Q: What's included in the suite lease?

A: Your rent includes one unfurnished suite with a key, maintenance of common areas, wi-fi, electricity, water, heating and cooling, access to the laundry area, common area with washbowls & hairdryers, directory listing and 24/7 security camera system.

Suite owners are responsible for cleaning their individual suites.

Q: Why would I want to rent a Salon Suite vs. Working at a traditional Salon?

A: There are so many benefits to renting a salon suite vs. working as an employee in a traditional salon setting. For example, when you’re an employee at a traditional salon, you usually don’t get to dictate your schedule. You’ve likely found yourself working holidays you wanted off or canceling plans because your time off wasn’t approved. Many salons make you promote their stocked products. Some beauty professionals find themselves forced to recommend products to clients that they don’t genuinely believe in. Last but not least, Salon suite owners keep 100% of their profits and typically report making double or triple their previous incomes.

Q: When is it the best time to start?

A: A salon suite is perfect for anyone feeling ready to be their own boss. You should have an entrepreneurial drive and feel excited about making all the decisions for your new business. Beauty professionals are typically the most successful as salon suite owners once they have at least a couple years of experience under their belt and have an established clientele. As a salon suite owner, you won’t get a lot of walk-in traffic so you have to make sure you are fully booked out for at least a few weeks in advance.

Q: What license and documents do I need?

A: The city requires all suite owners to apply for a business license & Professional License.

General & Professional Liability Insurance

Q: What is required to get started?

A: The requirements to get started will vary slightly based on what you do! For example, if you are a hair stylist, you will be required to show your cosmetology license. If you are planning to offer microblading as a service, you will need to show your certification and also obtain a body art license for your suite. You will also need a business license and insurance.
